Honda have formed a major part of our racing motorcycle heritage for fifty years and during this time, they have always produced machines that are just one step ahead of the rest. In 1966 the 250cc, 6 cylinder, RC166 with a maximum power band from 17,000-21,000 r.p.m, sounded and performed just out of this world! A landmark in our motorcycle history. 1979 saw the introduction of the oval piston, 32 valve NR750 V4, which produced another bench mark in motorcycle engineering and the start of Honda's V4 racing programme. Then in 1982, the RVF750R (RC30) won the first of eight consecutive Isle of Man formula one T.T. world championships. The RC30 had arrived! Honda have produced, at 185kg, a lightweight V4 the size of most 250cc racing machines. Producing 112ps@11,000 r.p.m. (max. rev's 12,500) this 748cc V4 is motorcycling perfection, incorporating the finest material and state-of-the-art design. Titanium connecting rods, computer programmed C.D.I. ignition, two rig pistons, split tooth cam drive gears for precise gearing, one way clutch, two lightweight aluminium radiators, extruded triple box main frame, Pro-Arm single sided rear swinging arm, fully adjustable race proven front and rear suspension.
